Florida football prospect #2: Jeremiah Moon – LB

The next player up on the Senior Bowl roster is linebacker Jeremiah Moon, a 6-year veteran for the Florida Gators.  Moon is a solid prospect to say the very least, and does most of his work as a pure tackler and occasional pass rusher for the Florida Gators.  He has played 46 games for the Gators in his 6 years here, and really seems like he could be a player to watch at the Senior Bowl.  At 6’2″ 245 pounds, he is a great size for a linebacker at the next level, where he is small enough to be quick laterally but big enough to make quality tackles.

Moon over the course of his long career has racked up a very solid statline.  He is primarily a tackling machine, and while he does have the ability to cover, does not do so often as he is utilized more elsewhere.  His statsheet over these past 6 years is combined to the following:

  • 46 games played in 6 seasons
  • 151 total tackles (60 solo 91 assisted)
  • 14 tackles for loss & 8 sacks
  • 4 passes deflected, 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries

Overall, Moon has alot to prove in this game, as he has spent quite a few years in college preparing for the NFL spotlight.  A high quality game this week could prove he is worth taking in day 2, and show that despite spending alot of time in college, he is prepared to make the leap to the NFL.
