Reason #3: Coaching fit

The final reason Kyle Trask should be good with Tampa is the fit with the offensive style, specifically how Bruce Arians runs it.  As mentioned just before, Bruce Arians wants quarterbacks to go for it all most times, and loves utilizing the deep pass as much as possible.  With that said, Kyle Trask is a great fit, as he has a huge arm and as seen in the previous graphic, is capable of making the big play.  We have seen Arians’ system work and fail in different instances, we saw it thrive with Carson Palmer after the first season, with Ben Roethlisberger the same way, and with Tom Brady.  However, it struggled with the likes of Peyton Manning in 1998-2000, as he would lead the league in interceptions his rookie year, and have 15 each of the other two seasons with Arians.  This was also seen with Jameis Winston, as he would go for his infamous 30 and 30 season, throwing over 30 interceptions in a season.

With this all in mind, it seems Arians works best when he gets multiple quality years with the quarterback, as he can work on interceptions after toning the offense up.  He never got that chance with Jameis, and Peyton was extremely young so he was prone to make rookie mistakes.  Kyle Trask in his first season could see high interception numbers as well, however, his decision making at the college level was good enough to warrant the thought that this may not be the case.  Overall, it is up to Arians to work out the offense for Trask and fit his style, and up to Trask to execute well and prove he is the next starter for Tampa.
