Florida football: 5-star recruit potentially heading to Gators
By TJ Ostrander
Harold Perkins a 5-star linebacker recruit made huge waves on the recruiting trail Monday when he announced his de-commitment from Texas A&M. Perkins is rated a 5-star linebacker and rated the fourt-best recruit in the 2022 class by 247 recruiting. Perkins visited the Florida Football program just over a week ago.
What a wild ride it has been with Perkins so far. We knew he had a little interest in Florida, but he was already committed to the number one recruiting class in the nation over at Texas A&M. Then we began to see some tweets from Perkins.
Harold still has upcoming visits left on his calendar before the final signing day, and he will visit rival LSU on the 28th. But, so far it is shaping up to be the Florida football program leading the way for this young man. He was impressed by Billy Napier on his official visit in the Swamp, and now a little over a week later is officially a free agent again.
247 Recruiting has Perkins projected as a potential early-round draft pick in a few years and draws comparisons to Myles Jack.
This would definitely be quite the shocker to the rest of the SEC and would officially put them on alert that Billy Napier is here! My prediction is that this young man will be heading to the Swamp when he signs on February 2nd.
