Reason 2: Capabilities outside the pocket

One of the main advantages of Richardson’s game is his ability to make plays outside the pocket, both on-the-move passing and rushing.  His efficiency as a rusher is absolutely amazing to witness, as he has 8 yards per rush in his two seasons combined, as well as 51 rushes for 401 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 2021 season.  If he can take this to the next level while starting and have this type of efficiency rushing as a starter, and just continue to be an effective passer while minimizing turnovers, he could be an absolute monster for Florida football.

Frankly, this running ability sets him apart from Jack Miller, the reason being that Miller is closer to a pro-style pocket passer than he is a mobile quarterback.  Richardson has the ability to just break off 70 yard QB runs like the one seen above, and has the big-play ability with his legs that is coveted more now at the NFL level.  This mobility is also extremely fun to watch as a fanbase, as any time he rolls out you never know if it will turn into a giant play, which can really get the offense rolling if it is having trouble finding momentum.
