Florida football: Top 3 2022 NFL Draft Prospects

Top 3 Florida football prospects for the 2022 NFL Draft

With the 2022 NFL Draft only a few months away, and college players either declaring for the draft or returning to college, we have a good idea of what we can expect in terms of players who will be moving onwards.  While Florida football might not have as many high-tier prospects as they did last season, they have quite a few prospects who could be taken in day 2 or 3 that could be steals for whichever team may take them.  For reference, in 2021, they had 8

players selected, those being:

  • +Round 1 Pick 4: Kyle Pitts – TE
  • +Round 1 Pick 20: Kadarius Toney – WR
  • Round 2 Pick 64: Kyle Trask – QB
  • +Round 4 Pick 136: Marco Wilson – DB
  • +Round 5 Pick 149: Evan McPherson – K
  • *Round 5 Pick 165: Shawn Davis – DB
  • *Round 5 Pick 173: Tedarrell Slaton – DT
  • *Round 7 Pick 208: Stone Forsythe – OT

(+ = started a game in the NFL this season)

(* = has not started but has played in an NFL game this season)

With that in mind, as previously stated, this class is not as strong for the Gators.  However, with it being headlined by a premier talent or two, it could still bode well for the program and bring recognition to some of the players they have had this season.  NFL teams should be looking towards some Gators this draft season, as if any of the players I mention fall past where they are projected, they could be phenomenal talents at their respective positions.  Therefore, without further ado, let’s begin with the first player…
