Florida football: Injuries, opt-outs for Gasparilla Bowl
By TJ Ostrander
The Florida football program has lost several players to the transfer portal, plus will lose at least one more after their bowl game against Central Florida tonight.
The Gators are also down several key players due to injury as well. Let’s take a look at the players who will not be suiting up on both sides tonight.
The following players have all been ruled out for tonight’s game
- OUT- QB Anthony Richardson (knee)
- OUT– CB Jaydon Hill (knee)
- OUT– Kamar Wilcoxson (knee)
- OUT– Ventrell Miller (arm surgery)
Gator opt-outs
The following players are opting out of tonights game, either for the NFL Draft or because they are transferring elsewhere.
- Draft- DE Zachary Carter
- Transfer- DL Khris Bogle
- Transfer- LB Mohamoud Diabate
- Transfer- OL Gerald Mincey
- Transfer- DL Dante Zanders
- Transfer- DL Lloyd Summerall III
Central Florida Injuries
- OUT- LB Bryson Armstrong (knee)
- OUT- DL Kalia Davis (knee)
- OUT- RB R.J. Harvey (knee)
Central Florida opt-outs
- Transfer- QB Dillon Gabriel
The Gators are missing several key players tonight, mainly on the defensive side of the ball. This is an area where the Florida football program has been highly dysfunctional the past two seasons. Anthony Richardson, likely would have started this game if not for his knee surgery.
Jacob Copeland entered the transfer portal a few weeks ago, he is expected to play tonight as far as I know.
