Arkansas 10-2 Vs Florida 11-1 (SEC Championship game)

In my opinion this was one of the most entertaining games in the entire year. The Gators didn’t play many high scoring games at all during the season, but we got one for the SEC championship. Arkansas was a very exciting team with two lethal running backs in Darren McFadden and Felix Jones. It was a dramatic back-and-forth game with the Gators knowing a potential trip to a BCS title game was on the line.

The Gators jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the second quarter and it looked like they would run away it. The early scores were provided by a Chris Leak touchdown run, as well as a Leak 37-yard pass to freshman Percy Harvin. It looked all but over for the overachieving Razorbacks.

Arkansas quarterback Casey Dick, inserted a shot of adrenaline into the Razorback sideline as he threw a 48-yard touchdown pass just before halftime to cut the lead to 17-7. The Razorbacks kept it going scoring on their first drive in the 3rd quarter cutting the lead to three. Chris Leak then threw a pick-six and suddenly Arkansas led, 21-17.

The biggest play of the game came later in the third quarter, Arkansas muffed a punt in the end-zone, the Gators recovered for the touchdown and took a 24-21 lead. Harvin added a 67-yard touchdown run shortly later to up the Gator lead, and the celebration started to build in Atlanta. The Gators closed out Arkansas 38-28, meanwhile USC lost to UCLA which propelled Florida into the BCS National Championship game. The 2006 SEC Champions -Florida Gators-
