4-star Devin Moore flips to Gators
By TJ Ostrander
Early signing day is here and with it the Gators have a huge flip to get the day rolling. Devin Moore flipped his commitment from Notre to Dame to the Gators early this morning in Naples.
Moore is a big 6’3 Safety out of Naples with some quickness to him as well. Moore’s smarts have been praised on the field consistently and he has a knack of finding his way to the ball. He was rated the #21 safety in the 2022 recruiting class.
This is a huge commitment landed by Billy Napier. Several 4-star players have doubled back on their commitments to Florida since the firing of Dan Mullen. Being able to land Moore is an encouraging sign on early signing day. The buzz around defensive back recruits has been extremely high in the last week since Napier hired Corey Raymond away from LSU. Raymond appears to have made a quick impact as there are a few other highly recruited defensive backs that the Gators are in the running for today.
The Gators really need to be able to flex their muscle in-state and not let these kids get out to other big power-5 schools. Take back the recruiting in Florida and real progress will be made. Moore had offers from some other big schools on the table. He was originally committed to Notre Dame heading into this week, ultimately Napier got the job done. Moore had many more offers, including Alabama.
Hope is on the way! Devin Moore is hopefully just the start for the day. The Gators are hopeful to land 2-3 more big defensive recruits today. 5-star cornerback Kamari Wilson has recently become a possibility for signing with Florida. This would be the biggest signing of the class if Napier could pull that one out of his hat later on today.
