6. Demarkcus Bowman
Woah! You read that right. Clemson transfer and former five-star running back Demarkcus Bowman is so important to the Gators. The running back depth chart is uncertain right now, but Bowman will be their featured back if the Gators are smart.
Bowman is extremely talented, and he can become a household name in Gainesville. The Gators will not be as pass-happy as last year, so Bowman is extremely important for the Gators in 2021.
5. Richard Gouraige
Some fans may want to see more offensive lineman on this list, and while I agree the offensive line is important, I think play-calling and scheme can help in college. The most important Gators’ offensive lineman is starting left tackle Richard Gouraige.
The former four-star recruit will protect starting quarterback Emory Jones’ blindside, which is obviously why he is so important. Gouraige’s play is crucial for the Gators in 2021.
4. Brenton Cox Jr.
The former Georgia transfer and five-star recruit Brenton Cox Jr. has an injury to keep an eye on, but it seems like he will be back for Week 1 of the 2021 season. And that is huge for the Gators because they need the elite pass rusher.
He reportedly played with a broken foot in 2020, so now that he has had surgery and can hopefully be healthy in 2021, expect big things from him. He is the Gators’ best and most talented pass-rusher, and the Gators need him to showcase his elite skill set this season.
