9. Trey Dean III

Some people may think that Trey Dean III is too high on this list, but I think he is crucial for the Gators’ defense. Dean needs to become the leader of the secondary, and even though he isn’t the best player in the secondary, he needs to hold them all together. If Dean can take a big jump this year, the Gators’ defense will follow!

8. Justin Shorter

While Copeland needs to replace Toney’s production and big-play ability, wide receiver Justin Shorter needs to replace Pitts’ elite red-zone ability and contested-catch situations. Shorter is a former five-star transfer, and the time is now for him to showcase his skills as a No. 1 receiver. His production is going to be crucial for the Gators if they are going to win games.

7. Ventrell Miller

While Dean is the leader of the secondary, Miller needs to be the leader of the entire defense. I believe that Miller is one of the best linebackers in the nation, and he is likely going to be a first-round draft pick. Florida is lucky enough to have him for one more year, and this last year should be special.
