Even though the offensive line is so crucial to a team’s success, people still like to neglect to talk about them. One player who falls victim to this is former Florida Gators offensive tackle and former first-round pick, D.J. Humphries.

Humphries was selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft (24th overall) by the Arizona Cardinals.

The former Gator earned a second contract with the Cardinals, signing a 3-year, $45 million contract extension with $29 million guaranteed on February 18, 2020.

Arizona was smart to lock up Humphries, who has started in all 32 games the last two seasons.

In those 32 games, Humphries has played solid football. He only allowed three sacks last season and was one of the best offensive linemen in the game.

D.J. Humphries should make the Pro Bowl this year.

Since he is an offensive lineman, it is hard for his hype to get going, but Humphries is on the right path to making his first Pro Bowl.

The best ability is availability, which was a big issue for the former Gator at the beginning of his career. He only played in 27 of his first 48 games. However, it seems like his availability issues are behind him.

If Humphries can showcase his skills in all 17 games of the 2021 season, he will start getting the hype he deserves. As Humphries was ranked as the No. 7 offensive tackle by USA Today Sports’ Doug Farrar, the hype train has already begun.

The Cardinals look like a team that will be solid, and the more a team wins, the better chance their best players have to make a Pro Bowl. Arizona is also filled with stars, so players like Humphries can get noticed even more because of that.

I expect the Cardinals to be really good this year, and for fans to realize that Humphries protecting quarterback Kyler Murray’s blindside is a big reason for that.

And once people realize how good Humphries is, he will make his first Pro Bowl this season.

Next. It is time for the New York Jets to pay Marcus Maye. dark
