After a long hiatus on the recruiting trail, Florida got good news with a commitment from three-star Isaiah Bond out of Buford, Georgia today, announced via Twitter.

After adding Tampa prospects Tony Livingston and C.J Hawkins in March, the Gators have been quiet on the recruiting trail, but hope to push into a stacked summer once the dead period is lifted on June 1st.

Bond chose the Gators over a variety of other suitors such as Alabama, Miami, Georgia, Wisconsin, Texas, and Pittsburg. After putting out a top-five on his birthday on March 15th, Bond saw other programs such as Florida, Texas, and Michigan come into his recruitment. Ultimately Florida won out, despite only extending an offer a month ago on April 9th.

When it comes to visits, Bond has officials scheduled for Florida (6/4), Miami (6/11), Texas (6/25), and Alabama. It is unclear if these visits will remain once Bond joins the Florida class.

The Buford standout was recruited as both a cornerback and wide receiver but should find a home on the offensive side of the ball once he arrives in Gainesville.

Speaking of fit, the 6’0, 175-pound athlete would fill a void left in the slot by Kadarius Toney, who was drafted in the 1st round of last week’s NFL Draft. Bond is a speed demon, running a 10.48 in the 100-meter dash, holding one of the best times in the entire state of Georgia.

Bond shows off his speed in Buford’s offense, mainly running go routes to allow his speed to burn opposing defensive backs after a clean release.

It is unclear if Bond would have an interest in running track in college, where Florida has one of the top tier programs across the nation.

Adding Bond to the class boosts Florida into the 23rd best 2022 class with only six commitments, but Florida should see an onslaught of commitments in the summer months as campus opens back up to host recruits and their families.
