We are one day away from the 2021 NFL Draft, and that means we are one day away from finding out where former Florida Gators tight end Kyle Pitts will be drafted. Pitts is my No. 1 player in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he is a lock to go in the top 10 of the draft.

I would say he is a lock to go in the top five, but it looks as if the first three or four picks will be quarterbacks, so if that’s the case, the farthest Pitts will drop is No. 6 overall to the Miami Dolphins. Pitts would be the perfect fit in Miami, and I am sure he wouldn’t mind staying in the state of Florida.

However, the highest Pitts can go is pick four to the Atlanta Falcons. If the Falcons were smart, they would pass on a quarterback, stick with Matt Ryan, and draft Pitts. Their offense would be one of the best in the NFL, and Pitts would be incredible paired up with Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Hayden Hurst.

One big reason Pitts is being talked about going so early is that he is a once-in-a-lifetime player. According to Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network, NFL execs believe that Pitts is the most likely player from the 2021 NFL Draft to become a Hall of Fame player. That is high praise, obviously.

A big word that has been thrown around for Pitts is “unicorn,” explaining just how unique and special Pitts is as he enters the draft.

Pitts was on The Jim Rome Show on CBS Sports, and Rome asked him about being called a unicorn. Rome asked, “Do you think that is a good thing, or do you think maybe it is a way to kind of undersell what you’re talking to me about right now, the amount of work you put in on the practice field, the amount of time you put in in the weight room, the amount of time you put in the film room. in other words, do you like that term unicorn, or do you think maybe it undersells you?”

Pitts was quick to answer and explain that he loves the term unicorn. “I definitely love the term unicorn because you can’t find unicorns just walking around in the forest,” Pitts said laughing. “They are kind of unique, and I feel like what I bring to the table is pretty unique, and I think that kind of helps me, you know, beat certain things and do certain things.”

I am glad Pitts is embracing the unicorn nickname because it is fitting. Pitts is one of a kind, and he is going to be a star in the NFL.
