Florida football: Best fits for the top Gators in the 2021 NFL Draft
By Ryan Kately
Kadarius Toney
Kadarius Toney should hear his name called the first day, I believe, towards the end of the first round. The 6 foot Toney has tremendous speed and is versatile as he can play in the slot, on the outside, and can return kicks.
I have two teams in mind that I believe have their eyes on Toney. The first being at pick No. 27 to the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens have a glaring need at wide receiver as their former first-round pick Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is underperforming. For Kadarius’s sake, I hope he does not land in Baltimore. The Raven’s pass game was abysmal last year as they ranked last in the league for pass yards per game. Lamar Jackson is a great player, but his weakest part of his game is his accuracy. Toney would not see many targets, let alone accurate targets.
That’s why I believe the best fit for Toney is in Buffalo with pick No. 30. As opposed to Baltimore, Buffalo ranked in the top 3 for passing yards per game, and Josh Allen showed MVP ability last year. Current Buffalo slot receiver Cole Beasley is getting up there in age but is still producing at a high level. I believe Toney would excel in Buffalo as Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, and Cole Beasley already make a solid receiving core. Toney would give the fans in Buffalo more to cheer about.
