Sept. 26 | Neyland Stadium

Week four will certainly be a trap game for the Gators.

Neyland Stadium will prove to be a hostile environment as Jeremy Pruitt will be looking for his first victory over Florida.

Last season, the Vols struggled at the quarterback position and ended up burning two redshirts in the process.

Pruitt later conceded and stuck it out with Jarrett Guarantano, who ended the year with a 50% touchdown-interception ratio.

During the offseason, UT added two more quarterbacks to the mix, but plan to stick with Guarantano unless things don’t go as planned.

Despite the uncertainties, Pruitt expects to see improvement from all cylinders in 2020 after the Vols managed to salvage the 2019 year by winning their final six games.

Prediction

Early on, the crowd will prove to be impactful.

The Volunteers will be fired up, but the lack of overall talent to compete with a skilled Florida football team will eventually take over, neutralizing the environment.

As the game goes on, I expect Florida to, inch by inch, pull away. Somewhat reminiscent of the 2012 matchup in Knoxville.

Florida will rally behind explosive plays and a couple of UT turnovers to ultimately defeat the Vols yet again.
