Florida football: Top recruits still finding their way to Gainesville
What a wonderful time it is to be a Gator. As each day goes on Florida football gets better. The level of talent that Mullen and his staff are putting together is crazy good.
What Florida football has done in such a short time frame to change this team is nothing short of magnificent. The transformation has the whole college world a buzz and it seems all others want to take the Gators down.
Players from high school to college all hear the same noise as well. So you know something is going on when certain things start to take place.
To start, to have many players return to your team when they have a great chance at the NFL. When top talent like that say they want to stay and be a part of what is being built, that means something.
Next, when top recruits from all over the land start to find their way to the Swamp. Top transfers say they want to be a Gator. All these are signs that things are changing in Gainsville and everyone wants to be a part. Here are a few of the best on the Nation, that are looking our way.
Justin Shorter, Transfer from Penn St.
In 2018 Shorter was the number one wide receiver in the nation. He bosted with five-star credentials and is now looking to visit the weekend of the 24th of January.
Justin would need a waiver from the NCAA to play next season, he would be a redshirt Sophmore, This is the second time n a month that Shorter will have come to Gainsville and word is, this is the only place he has on his schedule to visit.
Things look good for the Gators to be his landing spot which would only boost a receiving unit that will be second to none in the country next season.
Sedrick Van Pran, Center 2020
Van Pran is the second rank player at his position. he is a 6-4 285 pound OL out of New Orleans. He has verbally committed to Georgia but he is scheduled to make a visit to Gainsville.
He would not be the first offensive lineman to leave Georgia for Florida this year alone. He would be a great addition to the line as he can control the center and run the line.
He is big and strong and knows how to use that strength. Great technique and uses his hands well. There is no doubt that he would be a great fit for Florida football.
Jahmyr Gibbs Running back, 2020
He is a 5-9 180 pound running back out of Dalton, GA.
This four-star back has all the tools you look for and the staff of Florida football has had him as their target for some time. He will also be in Gainesville this weekend for a visit at which time the staff should hand him an offer.
He has committed to Georgia Tech but it would be what we call a soft commit. He could add to a running game that had it’s troubles last season.
He has great hands and likes to catch out of the backfield and he has that natural ability to make the cut. Once again a great RB that would bring back that Gator tradition of NFL backs.
These are just a few of the top recruits in the country that are still looking at the Gators. There is something brewing in Gainsville and a national championship run this upcoming season is looking more and more real.
