The wheels of Florida football are always moving. If they are not playing a game they re getting ready for one.

If there are no games to play then Florida football players find others to play them. It is a never-ending cycle for a major college football team. Head coach Dan Mullen and his staff have been hard at work on the recruiting trail all while preparing for the Orange Bowl.

There are many players that have signed their letters of intent to play for Florida football, but there are three that have enrolled and have joined the team in some capacity.

Anthony Richardson, a QB from Gainesville is one of those recruits. Josh Braun and Richard Leonard are the other two. I will spotlight Richardson and give some insight into the newest Gator QB to hit campus.

Florida football on campus: Anthony Richardson

Richardson is a dual-threat QB out of Gainsville Florida. At six-foot-four and 230 pounds with speed and an arm that can gun it downfield without problems.

He is an RPO QB from the get-go and is very good at reading the defense already. He has been a lock for some time to sign but now he is here and is an all-out Gator. He has been on campus now for only days but has practiced with the team and enrolled in school.

He works at his skills relentlessly and will be behind Kyle Trask and Emory Jones which will do him a world of good. After just a few times seeing Richardson play, Kyle Trask was very impressed with what he saw;

“He’s a stud,” Kyle Trask said of Richardson, according to Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun. “He’s going to do great things for this university.”

Those are nice words to hear. and as you see he was not kidding. The way he runs and throws he will fit right into Mullen’s offense. To be a great QB in his offense you must read the defense, looking at his tape you can see where he makes the right read over and over. His size allows him to see the field over the top and makes him very hard to bring down.

As for Richardson, he is proud to be a Gator and is ready to get going, his thoughts on getting to campus early:

"“I think it’s great, and I get to get here early and learn the basics of everything. I am just ready to get here and ready to learn. Just ready to be officially a Gator.”"

And that you are, and as fans, we are happy you are. On his preparation for the game, he gives some credit to the Florida QB’s coach;

"“Throwing all along they have helped me along with my quarterback’s coach Denny [Thompson],” Richardson said. “Throwing and my footwork have gotten better and working on my reads. All over those guys have helped me with everything all over my game. Just being a better quarterback. Over the last year, I have worked on my throwing, and I have grown a lot. I still need a lot of work though.”"

Those are all the right things we want to hear and once again it reaffirms that coach Mullen and his staff are as dedicated to Florida football as can be They have worked hard to put together a top 10 class and might be top 5 by the time they are done.

Richardson will be a great addition to the team and I know I can not wait to see him in action in the orange and blue. The future is bright and Florida football gets closer to a title with the addition of this recruit.
