FanSided came out with its FanSided 250 list Dec. 10, and there was a big hole right in the middle of it. The Florida Gators.

We all know there are entities and individuals that have some of the hottest fandoms out there. Those groups are never absent from the FanSided 250 — which ranks the 250 biggest fandoms in sports, entertainment, celebrities and gaming.

This year, there was one notable absence from the list. The Florida Gators.

I may be biased, but I think the Florida fanbase is the greatest around. I mean, just someone mess with one of us on social media and see what happens.

Another issue with the FanSided 250 is who actually did make it.

In the Southeastern Conference, Alabama was the highest-rated fandom from the conference — just one slot behind the top college fandom, Clemson.

LSU was rated No. 4 in college and No. 57 overall while Auburn was No. 8 in college and No. 105 overall. And, if that wasn’t a painful enough pill to swallow, Georgia was No. 9 in college and No. 121 overall. Kentucky rounded out the SEC programs on the list at No. 10 in college and No. 126 overall.

The worst pill to swallow was the fact that the Miami Hurricanes were No. 16 in college and No. 225 overall.

Heck, North Carolina A&T was No. 17 in college and No. 233 overall while Alcorn State was No. 21 in college and rounded out the 250 total names.

You mean to tell me that the Florida Gator fans were bested by the likes of Alcorn State, Memphis, Nebraska and Miami?

Really?

I think not.

I’m not sure how the polling is done for the FanSided 250 at the mothership, but I’m here to tell you that Florida Gator fans were snubbed for no reason. Again, I may be biased, but Gator fans are the best fans in the country.

We’ve seen the low times in football and basketball and we’ve seen the high times in all of our sports — football, basketball, baseball, softball and, well, all of them.

And, we’ve been with the Gators through it all.

Next. Orange Bowl a chance for Gators to build for 2020. dark

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is while the FanSided 250 may not recognize it, I am fully aware that the Florida Gators have the hottest fandom around.
