The end of the 2019 season is coming fast as Florida football has only one regular-season game left.  As we get to the end that means that recruitment is going even faster.

Football recruits that have not signed to any schools are doing so at a rapid pace. Florida football had great success for the upcoming year in their recruitment and they are still at it.

The Gators have landed another big-time 2021 recruit that is sure to step right in and can help them on either side of the ball.

When you find these type athletes your program is doing great. The Gators have also handed out another offer to a JUCO star receiver that can come in and help fill the void our seniors leave when they go to NFL.

Malik Heath, WR

Heath is a six-foot-three 210 pound out of Copiah-Lincoln Community College. he was a one time recruit of Mullens at Mississippi State.

He has the size to just dominate at the position. He has great hands really, he just looks the part. He seems natural at the position, the smooth routes and the RAC.  He has always had a great relationship with Mullen which might be a key to landing Heath. Heath stated:

"“I talk to Coach Mullen every week still,” Heath said of his talks with Mullen. “Our relationship is great, I’ve known him since my ninth grade year. He’s a great guy, he’s a player coach. He just wants to see you do more than just football; he wants to see you grow as a man. He wants to see you graduate and stuff like that.”"

He goes on to talk about how he feels to get an offer from Florida football:

“I was expecting it but I wasn’t expecting it either,” he said. “I was excited to get it, it means a lot to me.”

Now I know he has somewhat committed to Mississippi State but it was not exactly a promising commitment. I believe he was waiting on Mullen to bring him to Gator Nation and once Mullen gave him that offer, I believe he will end up at Florida. Let’s all help encourage him and show him what our fans are all about.

Chief Borders, Athlete

Borders is a 6-3, 230-pound athlete out of Powder Springs, GA.  This man can just play the game of football, thus the “athlete” attachment.

He has now committed to Florida football.

He plays both sides of the ball and frankly, he could do the same for the Gators. He plays WR on the offensive side of the ball and outside backer on the defense.

As a wide receiver, he has better size than most defenders and has some really good hands. He reminds me of Kyle Pitts the way he just gets open with his size.

He runs good routes and would help the offense. On the defensive side, he has great instinct to find the ball and when he does he makes the tackle. That has been a theme this year with recruitment, guys that make hits and make the tackle.

Heath talks about committing to Florida and where he might play for the Gators:

"“They see me as a very versatile athlete, I’m 6-4, 232, Coach Mullen and Coach Gonzales said they were ready to get me and get rolling,” Borders said on where Florida wants him to play. “I love playing receiver and I love playing defense but wherever they tell me to play, I’m going to play, offense, defense or special teams. I’m down to do whatever.”"

As you see from the clip above he can do just that, whatever he wants and succeed.

He just is another great athlete that Mullen and company have brought into the Gator family. All these recruits do is assure Gator Nation that the future is very good. that we will not just knock on the playoff door but kick it in, and soon.   #Gatorstogether
