2. Mohamoud Diabate, linebacker

True freshman Mohamoud Diabate made a big name for himself against Vanderbilt.

Two sacks and a forced fumble that turned into a touchdown for Jonathan Greenard, helped Diabate be named Co-Newcomer of the Week in the Southeastern Conference.

I don’t know how much Todd Grantham will be playing Diabate this week, but if last week was any indication of what he can do, put him in coach.

His weakside rushing was astonishing to watch as he blistered that side of the Vanderbilt offensive line all day long.

And, since getting pressure into the Missouri backfield, Diabate has proven to be a solid option to make that happen.

Again, if he does play, he is someone to keep an eye on. If he’s not playing in some form or fashion, we should be asking: why not?
