2. The defense is back to normal

The evidence: Florida’s defense held the Commodores to a whopping 51 yards rushing and another 77 yards passing.

In fact, third-string quarterback Deuce Wallace was sacked six times as he went just 7-for-18 for 60 yards and an interception.

The defense made life difficult for Vanderbilt the entire game.

Donovan Stiner had a pair of interceptions and newly-minted SEC Co-Freshman of the Week Mohamoud Diabate registered a pair of sacks — including one that forced a fumble and led to Jonathan Greenard to score an 80-yard touchdown.

The bottom line is the Florida football defense made mincemeat of Vanderbilt.

Buy or sell: This one is a little tougher because you would have to assume the defense was off to begin with.

So, in that regard, I’m not too sure.

I mean, Florida did lose Jabari Zuniga and Greenard and they lost to Georgia, but you could really chalk that up to more offensive ineptitude than to the defense.

But, against Vanderbilt, even without Zuniga, the defense came up huge.

If nothing else, it was a coming-out party for Diabate, who had a strong game complete with solid weakside and up-the-middle pressure off the ball.
