Florida football: Vanderbilt injury report ahead of Saturday
While the injury bug — for the most part — has been short for Florida football, it certainly has not been kind to Vanderbilt.
Florida football has been fortunate not to be completely shell-shocked with injuries this season — aside from losing quarterback Feleipe Franks and defensive back C.J. McWilliams.
However, Vanderbilt has been absolutely riddled with injuries this season.
And not just short-stint injuries, I mean long-term out injuries.
Commodores’ head coach Derek Mason has been saddled with the injury bug all season — including most recently losing his No. 1 and No. 2 quarterbacks as well as six other players out.
Ouch.
Here’s the updated Vanderbilt injury report ahead of Saturday’s game at Florida football.
Out
Mo Hasan, quarterback
Vanderbilt quarterback Mo Hasan was knocked out of the win over Missouri with a concussion. He sat out last week’s loss to South Carolina and will not play Saturday against Florida football.
Florida Gators Football
Frank Coppet, defensive back
Defensive back Frank Coppet suffered a knee injury in late September and is out for the rest of the season.
Colin Anderson, linebacker
Vanderbilt linebacker Colin Anderson suffered a season-ending knee injury in the middle of September.
Amir Abdur-Rahman, wide receiver
Wide receiver Amir Abdur-Rahman suffered a lower-body injury in the beginning of the season. He is ruled out for the entire season.
Jamauri Wakefield, running back
Vanderbilt running back Jamauri Wakefield suffered what has been called “a significant leg injury” and it out for Saturday’s game with Florida football — and out for the season.
Eddie Zinn-Turner, defensive lineman
Defensive lineman Eddie Zinn-Turner suffered a knee injury in August and had surgery to repair the knee. He is out for the season.
Malik Langham, defensive lineman
While not injured, defensive lineman Malik Langham is awaiting an NCAA ruling on his eligibility for 2019. Because of that, he has been ruled out against Florida.
Questionable
Riley Neal, quarterback
Quarterback Riley Neal was taken out of last week’s loss to South Carolina with concussion-like symptoms. Although he is listed as questionable, coach Derek Mason said he is not going to play against Florida football Saturday.
Dontye Williams, defensive back
Vanderbilt defensive back Dontye Williams has been out the last four games with a leg injury. He is listed as questionable against Florida.
Probable
Kalija Lipscomb, wide receiver
Vanderbilt’s leading receiver from a year ago was held out of Saturday’s game with South Carolina for personal reasons. He is expected to play against Florida football on Saturday afternoon.
No. 10 Florida will host the Commodores at noon Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
