5. Jared Pinkney, tight end

For a kid playing at Vanderbilt and expecting to be a potential first-round draft pick in the NFL, Commodore redshirt senior tight end Jared Pinkney has been pretty lackluster this season.

Touted as probably one of the best tight ends in the Southeastern Conference this season — he was named to the second-team preseason All-SEC squad — there was a lot of expectation for Pinkney this season.

However, coming into Saturday’s game with Florida football, he only has 157 yards on 15 catches and no touchdowns.

Needless to say, it has been disappointing for Pinkney and the Commodores.

The reason I have him on the list is that he is bound to have a breakout game. While I don’t see it happening against Florida football — especially considering the Commodores are on their third-string quarterback — anything is possible.

He is worth looking at as it is likely he will be playing Sunday’s next season.

No. 10 Florida will host Vanderbilt at noon Saturday, Nov. 9 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
