I have been a Florida football fan for a long long time, and have seen many critical games that we both won and lost.

The best part of college football (and Florida football) is the importance of each and every game. You can be at the top of the mountain and lose a game and slid to the bottom.  Or, at least out of contention. But the game has to be more than just that, is it not?

But the one main thing that continues for the real fans is that next week, after a loss, they are right back behind you as you play the next game.

Did we have expectations of a national championship? Yes, we did, and we should have. We have al the talent it takes and we have one heck of a coaching staff.

This is coach Dan Mullen’s second year and the team’s second year under him and his staff’s leadership. The defense has been the powerhouse of the team and it was not until this last week that they all got to play together. There is plenty to still be happy about around Florida football.

The offense

If there is any part of the Gators that has not disappointed it has been the offense. Kyle Trask has led this team and has shown that he is a true blue and orange QB. He makes great reads on the defense and has the arm to back up his knowledge. The best part is he will be back next season. Not that I know this for a fact but it makes the best sense for him.

Why not stay and continue on what you help put together. Feleipe Franks should be back and Emory Jones continues to develop into something special.

There is also one heck of a group of QB’s coming in, like Anthony Richardson. The quarterback position is one that will be good for some time. The receivers, what can I say? They are the best group in the country and I don’t think it is comparable.

We have a group of receivers coming into the Gator nation as well that will help rebuild when this experienced group leaves.  Let’s not forget the fact that Kyle Pitts will be around as well.  After the year he has had he will surely be at the front of all major awards next year for his position. Things are still very bright.

The defense

The fact that this defense, with what they endured this season in injuries, did as good as they have is crazy amazing. No matter who went down the “next man up” mentality paid off and the deep talent showed.

To think them all being back at the same time last week may have been a touch of a detriment. They had two weeks, or even less, to get back to a rhythm that was not there on Saturday.

They have talent and depth that will only get better. Recruits have been coming and signing and Mullen is defiantly building up the team.

The Florida football defense has only been apart of Todd Grantham’s system for two years. As they all get more and more comfortable together, and he gets more guys to fit into his scheme, Like Gervon Dexter or Justin Jackson, the winning will continue.

Other good things coming

We know there are great things this year and next to look forward too with this team. But there are other things to look forward to as well.

To start, we get to play FSU still. That is great because no matter how bad our record some years was, beating FSU is always a way to make one happy. The end of the year beatdown of FSU is something all Florida football fans look forward to.

And of course, the Gators will be in a good bowl game which should show just how good they really are. Winning a bowl game to me is always a great way to end a year. These are just a few.

Another thing is watching the rest of the SEC beat on each other.  Alabama plays LSU still and assuming now Georgia goes on to play the winner of that game in the SEC championship, another loss to one of them. Always fun t watch one of them get knocked out of contention as well.

I guess what I’m saying is there is still a lot of the year left. There are still many things to be excited about Florida football.

Things are bright and the future is even brighter for the Gators so let’s all stay behind our team and remember we are all fans of the best team in college football. The Florida Gators!!  #Gatorstogethere

Next. Third downs kill Gators against Georgia. dark
