Florida football: Gators injury report ahead of Cocktail Party
Florida football received some good news during the bye week from coach Dan Mullen. The news was to expect some key players to return from injury.
Florida football has managed to survive and thrive despite missing some key components of its offense and defense.
Well, good news, Gator Nation.
During the bye week, head coach Dan Mullen said he expects a couple of those key components to return for No. 6 Florida’s clash with No. 8 Georgia in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville Saturday.
Among those returning (but still on the injured list, by the way) are defensive linemen Jonathan Greenard and Jabari Zuniga along with utility/wide receiver Kadarius Toney.
Good news may be a bit of an understatement, especially if they are all 100% — which I presume they are.
Here’s the updated injury report for Florida football, from USA Today:
Out
Feleipe Franks, quarterback
Florida football starting quarterback Feleipe Franks suffered a dislocated right ankle in the win against Kentucky. He is out for the season.
C.J. McWilliams, defensive back
Defensive back C.J. McWilliams suffered a ruptured Achilles before the start of the season and is out for the season.
Questionable
Dameon Pierce, running back
Florida football running back Dameon Pierce is listed as questionable against Georgia as he continues to recover from a head injury.
Jeawon Taylor, defensive back
Defensive back Jeawon Taylor is still nursing a shoulder injury and he could be a game-time decision on Saturday against Georgia.
Probable
Jabari Zuniga, defensive line
Standout defensive lineman Jabari Zuniga was out the last game with an ankle injury. While he’s still listed as probable, Mullen has said he is ready to go Saturday for Florida football.
Jonathan Greenard, linebacker
Florida football graduate linebacker Jonathan Greenard, like Zuniga, missed the last game with a right ankle injury. He’s listed as probable, but Mullen has also said Greenard is ready to go Saturday.
Kadarius Toney, wide receiver/utility
Florida football wide receiver Kadarius Toney has missed a good part of the season with a left shoulder injury. He’s listed as probable, but Mullen has said Toney is good for Saturday’s game with Georgia.
No. 6 Florida football will take on No. 8 Georgia at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 in Jacksonville.
