The Florida secondary

Yes, Saturday was a tough loss to watch — especially in the last quarter-and-a-half — but the Florida defense was still able to hold LSU quarterback Joe Burrow to under 300 yards.

A lot of that has to do with the coverage Tigers’ receivers faced against the Gators’ secondary.

Florida football missed out on being able to pass-rush Burrow because Jabari Zuniga and Jonathan Greenard were both sitting out due to injury.

That meant in order to stop the passing game, the secondary had to get involved … a lot.

Defensive back Shawn Davis led all tacklers with six against LSU and he is quietly becoming a defensive force to be reckoned with.

Regardless, the defensive secondary continues to put opposing teams in flux with their passing game.

And, despite injuries upfront, that secondary is only going to keep harassing the opposition.
