There is nothing more important to a football program than incoming recruits. Without top talent, there is no top program. Florida football is one of the few that can boast about their recruits year after year.

I will take a look at a couple of top recruits, both were on hand to watch the Auburn homecoming game last Saturday.

Casanova’s Corner has a grade on each recruit that maxes at 10 points. I look at five different areas for each recruit, giving a grade of 0-2 for each section.

The first recruit is out of Jacksonville, Florida and the other is from Winter Park.

As with mosts recruits, it is their upside that we love.

Jahquez Robinson DB

  • Sandalwood High School (Jacksonville, Fla.)
  • 6-2, 190 pounds.
  • Casanova’s love scale: 8

Strengths: He has enough speed to handle most college receivers already, great hands, breaks on ball well. His length is great for a DB.

This is the guy that you want in your defensive backfield. He has the talent to cover most as he has all the speed to close fast on the ball. When he gets his hands on the ball, he keeps it. He is also a great guy who was in the Swamp on Saturday to witness the win during Homecoming. Being from Jacksonville has put some pressure on him a bit.

He has committed to Alabama but has left the door open for Florida. He has been a fan of the Gators and the atmosphere at the Swamp:

"“That was definitely one of the craziest atmospheres that I’ve ever been a part of. The fans were in it the whole time.” Robinson goes on. “Florida is so close to home and I like Coach Grantham’s defense and playing for home means a lot to me. That’s what keeps Florida in it.”"

He is one of the best out there and we need to let him know he is welcome to be a Gator anytime he is ready. He got to see first hand Saturday what it is like to be a Gator. A game like that is enough to convince anyone to come to play for Florida football.

2021 Dakota Mitchell, Safety

  • Winter Park High School (Winter Park Fla.)
  • 5-11, 185 Pounds
  • Casanova’s love scale: 9

Strengths: Speed, quickness, sure hands, footwork and hits hard and makes the tackle.

This guy is a sure anchor to your defense. He can come up and make a play to stop the run, he wraps up with strength and locks the offensive man up.  If he has to play coverage he has the hands to get any ball that comes near him and with his physical play, makes him a playmaker.

He was in the Swamp as well Saturday and had this to say about his visit:

"“The atmosphere was so live, it had me turnt the whole time,” he said on the atmosphere in the Swamp. “I loved the atmosphere and the game was live too.” He went on:“I’ve been a Florida fan since I was like four years old so that’s my been my dream school for the longest. I love how they do stuff over there and the atmosphere is just crazy and I like the coaches. I feel like it’s a good fit for me.”"

That does not mean he is a lock. He has not committed just yet and there are several schools looking to have him come in and visit. Florida State is one of them. So let’s let him know how welcome he will be into Gator Nation!

These are but a few of the top talent in the country that the Florida football program is looking to bring in. I like both of them and think they can come right in and make an impact on this defense.

Next. 5 LSU Tigers to watch Saturday against Florida. dark

We will keep finding them and bringing them to you, as we are all #GatorsTogether.
