Lamical Perine

I was sold on Lamical Perine at the beginning of the season. Part of that may have been that unspoken rule that seniors have earned the right to be on the field.

But, sometimes that doesn’t always mean seniors are the best for the situation.

I think Perine has demonstrated that.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Perine and think he has a ton of talent, but with the offensive line as inexperienced as it is right now, he’s not able to find those bigger holes he is accustomed to.

Let’s face it, Perine is great in the open field, but he hasn’t shown the ability to either skirt the edge or find small openings up the middle to get into the field.

He does have 276 yards from scrimmage — 198 of that on the ground — but, it’s taken 68 plays to get that (that’s an average of just 4.1 yards per play). He has to do better than that.
