In what could be another Top 10 showdown in two weeks, Florida football will hit the road to take on LSU, Oct. 12.

It could wind up being the second top-10 showdown in as many weeks for Florida football.

Oct. 12, the No. 10 Gators will leave Gainesville to take on No. 4 LSU in Baton Rouge.

The Southeastern Conference announced Monday the game between Florida football and the Tigers will be the night feature game on ESPN.

Kickoff will be at 8 p.m. ET.

It will be the first time since 2016 the Gators will play at Tiger Stadium.

Last season, Florida football defeated LSU, 27-19 in a hotly-contested game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

The other two late games Oct. 12 will feature Ole Miss at Missouri at 7 p.m. on ESPN2 while Arkansas will travel to Kentucky for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on the SEC Network.

Here’s the Oct. 12 television schedule for the SEC:

  • 12 p.m. — South Carolina at Georgia (ESPN)
  • 12 p.m. — Mississippi State at Tennessee (SEC Network)
  • 3:30 p.m. — Alabama at Texas A&M (CBS)
  • 4 p.m. — UNLV at Vanderbilt (SEC Network)
  • 7 p.m. — Ole Miss at Missouri (ESPN2)
  • 7:30 p.m. — Arkansas at Kentucky (SEC Network)
  • 8 p.m. — Florida at LSU (ESPN)

The Florida-LSU game may not be the only top 25 game as No. 1 Alabama will travel to face No. 25 Texas A&M. Texas A&M is idle, but it is possible they could drop out of the Top 25 depending on Saturday’s results.

Florida football could also drop out of the top 10 if they lose to No. 7 Auburn this weekend at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Regardless, the game at LSU will feature one of the most potent offenses in the Southeastern Conference against one of the nation’s best defenses. Toss in last season’s epic in Gainesville, and there’s the making for a strong contest.

So, it makes sense to put this game at night, especially considering the remaining slate that week.

I mean, really, do you want to relax at night watching Mississippi State at Tennessee? Yeah, me either.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game at The Swamp is slated for 3:30 p.m. on CBS as part of the SEC on CBS.
