Florida football: Tennessee injury report for Florida game
The Tennessee football team has its fair share of injuries — more than its opponent Saturday, Florida football.
Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt is already at a disadvantage over Florida football this weekend.
The Volunteers are looking at eight players out for either injury or suspension and are either out or questionable for Saturday’s game in Gainesville.
One player, however, defensive back Bryce Thompson, is traveling with the team after his indefinite suspension was lifted last week by Pruitt.
Here’s a look at the latest injury report for the Tennessee Volunteers, according to USA Today.
Out
Jordan Allen, linebacker
Allen is expected to miss “an extended period” after having surgery to repair a torn hip flexor.
Baylen Buchanan, defensive back
In August, Buchanan was put on the injured list after being diagnosed with a narrowing of the spine. He is projected to be out indefinitely.
Kenneth George Jr., defensive back
George is serving an indefinite suspension for “conduct detrimental to the program.”
Emmit Gooden, defensive line
Gooden tore his ACL and is out for the season.
Deangelo Gibbs, wide receiver
Gibbs is out for the entire season due to an eligibility issue following his transfer from Georgia.
Questionable
Bryce Thompson, defensive back
Thompson was cleared by Pruitt to travel with the team to Gainesville, following an indefinite suspension. Thompson will return to Knoxville two days after the game for a preliminary hearing on misdemeanor domestic assault charges.
Brandon Kennedy, offensive line
Kennedy had surgery to repair a torn ACL. He has been out of the first three games this season and is listed as questionable for the game against Florida football.
Trey Smith, offensive line
Smith was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs and has sat out the first three games of the season. It is unknown whether he will play Saturday against Florida.
Probable
Carlin Fils-Aime, running back
Fils-Aime was out with a leg injury. He is listed as likely for Saturday’s game.
No. 8 Florida football will take on Tennessee at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at 12 p.m. Saturday.
