The business of college football never stops. In order for a program to survive, they must have new recruits regularly. Florida football is no different and on Saturday they had several of their top recruits in The Swamp.

Florida football offensive recruits

It is a right of passage that all recruits get to experience. Visiting a school that is recruiting you to come play for them.

It is a time when young ballplayers get to see the place that they may spend at least the next three years of their lives. Their first real look at college and big-time ball.

Saturday, the Florida Gators played the University of Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks at home and there were several recruits in the house.

The first of which was home town four-star quarterback from Gainsville, Anthony Richardson. A big-time talent right in the back yard of the Gators. As one would expect he is expected to sign with Florida football.

Tight end Jonathan Odom from Jesuit High in Tampa Fl. came up to be apart of the night. He is a three-star guy that has great hands and looks to be a great addition to the offense.

Receiver Leonard Manuel was also on hand at the Swamp Saturday. A great four-star recruit from Ocala Fl, just down the road from Gainesville.

Some have him going to Georgia, but the Gators made their case Saturday. Offensive lineman Gerald Mincey of Cardinal Gibbons High in Fort Lauderdale Fl. Another three-star guy that can come in and contribute to that line right away.

As well receiver Xzavier Henderson (yes, the brother of current Gator C.J. Henderson) was here. Florida has the upper hand as Henderson will be on campus a lot this year.

Defensive recruits

Florida football has always been a force upfront on the defensive side. In that same tradition, they bring in a couple of big Florida guys that will help shore up that front.

Defensive linemen Gervon Dexter from Lake Wales Fl a four-star defensive tackle and              Johnnie Brown is a defensive tackle from Tampa’s Middleton High.

When you are known for always having a great D-line, guys like these are essential. Big tough and gator like.

Rashad Torrence a Marietta, GA three-star safety. This defensive superstar has been here before. He loves it in Gainsville as he stated: “It’s just a family feel here, and it really does feel like home to me here.”  We will always welcome you home here in Gainsville.

2021 recruits

Not only is it important for next year, but two years down the road is already a thought. Some of these high school Juniors were also in the Swamp, here to see Gator Nation first hand.

Running back Anthony Williams from Altamonte Springs, FL is on the Gators’ screen as he fits the running back type Mullen looks for. One of the biggest recruits on hand Saturday though was offensive lineman Micah Morris.

One of the top recruits at his position and they would love to have him here not in Georgia. the Gators gave him a night he will remember, fingers crossed.

Recruits are not just important for now but they the future for the program. When you have a program such as Florida does you must recruit at the highest level.

Next. Gators more complete in 45-0 win over UT-Martin Skyhawks. dark

The list of guys that were here to watch and be a part of Florida football are some of the best there are.
