Southern Mississippi (1-0) at Mississippi State (1-0)

When and where: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field in Starkville, Mississippi

On the air: ESPNU with Kevin Brown and Andre Ware.

Outlook: Mississippi State has a very balanced offensive attack (236 yards passing and 261 yards rushing) in a 38-28 win over Louisiana-Lafayette. However, their defense gave up 430 yards total in the win. Southern Miss got a kickoff return for 89 yards to pace them to a 38-10 win against Alcorn State. Neither team really impressed in their season opener, but MSU quarterback Tommy Stevens did go 20-for-30 for 236 yards and two touchdowns.

The Last Line: This is an in-state rivalry (albeit, not as big as the Egg Bowl), so it could be very good. Then again, it could also be very bad. Watch with caution.
