Charleston Southern (0-1) vs. South Carolina (0-1)

When and where: 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.

On the air: SEC Network with Dave Neal, DJ Shockley and Dawn Davenport.

Outlook: Charleston Southern got hammered in a 46-13 loss to FCS-ranked Furman last week as the Paladins racked up 369 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. That bodes well for the Gamecocks who have to turn to freshman quarterback Ryan Hilinski to replace an injured Jake Bentley. South Carolina didn’t have much luck with Bentley in a 24-20 loss to North Carolina, but they did have a strong showing on the ground as Clemson want away Tavien Feaster had 72 yards and fellow running back Rick Dowdle added 62 yards on the ground.

The Last Line: Charleston Southern just isn’t very good. If they get housed at Furman, Will Muschamp could quarterback South Carolina himself and the Gamecocks should still win.
