Florida football: A look at the SEC schedule this week
Missouri vs. Wyoming
When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at Laramie, Wyoming (Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium)
How to watch: CBS Sports Network with Carter Blackburn, Aaron Murray, Rick Neuheisel and Jenny Dell.
Outlook: Well, if nothing else, it’s Rodeo Day at the University of Wyoming. Yeah, I got nothing for that either.
The Cowboys have 13 returners back and will be led on offense by redshirt freshman quarterback Sean Chambers, senior wide receivers Austin Conway, Raghib Ismail Jr. and John Okwoli and senior tight end Josh Harshman. They do have to replace 1,000-yard rusher Nico Evans, however.
On defense, the “Pokes” are anchored by senior middle linebacker and All-America candidate Logan Wilson who has 316 career tackles at Wyoming.
Missouri will have Clemson transfer quarterback Kelly Bryant under center along with junior tight end Albert Okwuegbunam and senior lineman Tre’Vour Wallace-Simms on offense. Defensively, the Tigers have first-team All-SEC selection Cale Garrett and second-team All-SEC player DeMarkus Acy back.
The Last Line: You know, I really don’t know about this game. I can see this as a trap game for Missouri. On the road, in the mountains in a hostile environment. In the end … too close to call.
Florida football returns to action on Sept. 7 when the Gators host Tennessee-Martin in Gainesville.
