Donovan has Florida pedigree.

He spent 19 seasons with the Gators, coaching them to back-to-back NCAA Championship titles in 2006 and 2007 and he amassed more wins than any other Florida basketball coach in the history of the program.

Not to mention the fact that coached Florida to more NCAA tournament appearances, tournament wins and Southeastern Conference titles than all other Gator coaches combined.

Bearing in mind that Florida is predominantly a football school, the level of success Donovan had in Gainesville is nothing short of spectacular.

It can be argued that the expectations placed on the Gators today are a result of Donovan’s success beginning in the 1998-99 season.
