Florida football: Top 2021 prospect puts Gators on the list
One of the top-rated quarterbacks coming out of the 2021 class has listed Florida football as one of his top six schools.
If Florida football is looking for a strong quarterback prospect who could come in immediately and make an impact, Brock Vandagriff could be the one.
The Prince Avenue Christian (Bogart, Georgia) rising junior has placed the Gators in his top six schools. It came on the heels of an unofficial visit Vandagriff made to Florida June 1, according to 247Sports.
Recently, according to Rivals.com, Vandagriff won the Most Valuable Player award at the annual Rivals 3 Stripe Camp presented by Adidas, for the second year in a row.

While the official rankings for the Class of 2021 have yet to be released, Rivals suggested Vandagriff could be high on it.
Vandagriff (6-foot-2, 199 pounds) named Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and Tennessee, along with Florida football, as his top six schools.
“These six have stood out from the rest,” Vandagriff told Rivals. “I look forward to furthering relationships with these coaches and getting to know the universities better.”
On Florida, Vandagriff said:
"“Florida has been putting the heat on lately. I like UF, but didn’t really think they wanted me. That all changed since spring. Coach Brian Johnson made two trips to the school, and really expressed the interest they have for me. He also made a video presentation of some plays from my film, and then plays from their offense. He was showing me the similarities of my game, and how I would fit in their offense. Coach Dan Mullen is an offensive guru. He critiqued my throwing and told me some things to take home and work on. That means he cares. I like the campus and love what they are doing there.”"
Georgia could hold an inside track, however, because Athens is about 10 minutes from his home in Bogart. Oklahoma could also be high on the list as Vandagriff said he was “the only QB offered in my class” by head coach Lincoln Riley.
Vandagriff said he liked the Volunteers because “I like the environment coach Jeremy Pruitt has built.” He also mentioned he has been a die-hard Auburn fan as a kid and “loved going to watch them play every season, as we had season tickets.”
He said Clemson was on the list because “it is impossible to overlook the success they have had in the last few years” despite the fact that the Tigers have not made an offer – according to Vandagriff, Clemson does not make offers to quarterbacks until after their junior season.
According to 247Sports, Vandagriff has been offered by Miami, Auburn, Michigan, Tennessee, LSU, Florida, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Florida State and Penn State.
