Florida Gator softball gets past Boston, 3-0 in NCAA regional tournament
A two-run single from Hannah Adams was just what the doctor ordered as the second baseman helped lead the Florida Gator softball team to a 3-0 win over Boston University in the first game of the NCAA softball regionals in Gainesville Friday.

The Gators will now face Boise State at 2 p.m. Saturday in the winners’ bracket of the tournament. Boise State blasted past Stanford, 9-1 in the early game.
The No. 5-seeded Gators were held scoreless going into fifth inning until Cheyenne Lindsey opened the bottom of the fifth with a single.
Alex Voss followed up with a sacrifice bunt and Amanda Lorenz drew a walk-off Boston ace Ali Dubois. Kendyl Lindaman broke the deadlock with a double to left, scoring Lindsey from third.
Adams cleaned house with her single to give the Gators the win.
Until the fifth, however, things were in doubt as Du Bois held the Gators in check and hitless in the first five innings.
The Terriers attempted a rally in the top of the sixth with back-to-back singles. However, Boston followed that with a fly ball, strikeout and a foul ball, fielded nicely by shortstop Sophia Reynoso.

Florida pitcher Kelly Barnhill was equal to the task by allowing four hits and striking out five to pick up the win.
The Gators will take on Boise State at 2 p.m. followed by Boston facing Stanford in the losers’ bracket at 4:30 p.m. A win and the Gators coast into the regional finals.
