Florida Football Recruiting: Daquon Green Predicts Three Commits
Four-star commit Daquon Green is actively helping the Florida football team pursue some of the top recruits on its big board. He believes three will commit.
The Florida Gators football team is in the process of making last minute pitches to recruits with National Signing Day nearing. The onus of securing commitments is placed on the coaching staff, but Florida’s 2017 commits have joined the recruiting process.
One could argue that no incoming recruit has been more active along the recruiting trails than four-star wide receiver Daquon Green.
Green is ranked No. 118 on the ESPN 300 and No. 232 on the 247Sports Composite. He’s a 6’1″ and 186-pound wide receiver who has been heralded as one of the most promising players in this recruiting class.
According to Zach Abolverdi of SEC Country, Green believes that Florida has a legitimate opportunity to secure commitments from three coveted players.
"“I think we have a good chance of pulling them all,” said Green. “I think Nick Smith and T.J. Slaton were having the best time. I think we get Chris Henderson, too. They need to make that move.”"
All three of those commitments would go a long way towards improving the future of the program.
Tedarrell “T.J.” Slaton is the No. 69 overall player and the No. 2 offensive guard on the 247Sports Composite rankings. Slaton is also the No. 91 overall recruit on the ESPN 300 and is ranked No. 129 overall on Rivals.
247Sports’ crystal ball prediction gives the Gators an 83 percent chance to land Slaton, who would have a chance to start from Day 1.
Christopher Henderson is a four-star athlete who has the potential and ability to play both running back and cornerback. Standing at 6’1″ and 175 pounds, the Gators plan to play Henderson—No. 131 on the ESPN 300 and No. 135 on the 247Sports Composite rankings—at cornerback.
The Alabama Crimson Tide and Miami Hurricanes are both in pursuit of Henderson, but 247Sports’ crystal ball prediction gives Florida 100 percent odds of securing his commitment.
Nick Smith is a three-star outside linebacker from Orlando, Florida. The Florida football team is heavily favored to secure his commitment, with the Michigan State Spartans and North Carolina Tar Heels serving as the top competition.
247Sports’ crystal ball prediction gives Florida football a 95 percent chance to secure Smith’s commitment.
