Florida Gators Volleyball: Five UF Players Make 2016 All-SEC Team

Five members of the Florida Gators women’s volleyball team were named All-SEC. Find out who made the cut, as well as which freshman was honored.

Mary Wise and the Florida Gators women’s volleyball team have been a pillar of success in Gainesville. Since Wise took over as head coach in 1991, the Gators have played in the NCAA Tournament in every single season she’s been at the helm.

Though Wise’s accolades are well-documented—no Gators coach in any sport has a better career win percentage than she—it’s her players who are getting their turn in the spotlight.

Florida is currently 26-3 overall and 16-2 in the SEC. It’ll host the Alabama State Hornets in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament, but before it does so, the stars of the show deserve to be honored.

According to a release on SECSports.com, five members of the Gators’ women’s volleyball team were named All-SEC.

Rhamat Alhassan, Florida
Alex Holston, Florida
Carolina Knop, Florida
Allie Monserez, Florida
Carli Snyder, Florida

That’s an incredible honor for all women involved.

Alex Holston is a senior who has achieved one of the greatest careers in the history of the Gators’ volleyball program. She was named SEC Player of the Year in 2014 and has now been named All-SEC in all four of her seasons in Gainesville.

Holston should be praised as the legend of Florida volleyball that she undoubtedly is.

Rhamat Alhassan was the 2014 SEC Freshman of the Year and she continues to add accolades to her impressive resume. Carolina Knop transferred from the University of Michigan and has picked up where she left off with award-worthy success.

Carli Snyder is becoming a legitimate star on the court and Allie Monserez is one of the most decorated setters in the country.

In addition to five Gators players making the 2016 All-SEC Team, another was named to the 2016 All-SEC Freshman Team. Rachael Kramer has followed a dominant high school career with an equally as historic freshman season.

The 6’8″ Kramer is the tallest player in the history of the Gators’ women’s volleyball program, but her height is only a fraction of what makes her special on the court.

Congratulations to the Florida Gators women’s volleyball team for an incredible season. Best of luck in the NCAA Tournament!
