Florida vs Vanderbilt: Five Gators To Watch For Against Vandy
3. Brandon Powell
Gator fans did receive some good news regarding Brandon Powell on Wednesday, as it was announced that Powell would NOT be suspended for the Vanderbilt game after being inexplicably thrown out of last Saturday’s game after he threw a “punch.”
In reality we all saw on replay that it was an Academy Award winning acting job by Rashaan Goulden who flopped BIG TIME on the play.
Ever since the season opener, Powell’s had less and less receiving yards in each game. In the opener against UMASS, he had a career-high seven catches for 73 yards and a touchdown, but in the three games since then, he only has 8 receptions for 72 yards and one touchdown.
Florida offensive coordinator, Doug Nussmeier, needs to design some plays where BP will be the primary target because when he’s in open space, he has the ability to make guys miss like our next player to watch for, Antonio Callaway.
