No. 3 Derrick Harvey (2005-2007)

Derrick Harvey was an important piece in Florida’s defense during their National Championship run in 2006.

In a three-year career he compiled 90 total tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss, 20.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He was an SEC champion and second-team All-SEC selection in 2006 and again earned second-team All-SEC  honors in 2007.

In the 2007 National Championship Game, Harvey was unstoppable with three of his four tackles being sacks! This would be enough to earn him Defensive MVP honors as the Gators crushed the #1 Ohio State Buckeyes 41-14 for the program’s second ever National Championship.

After his junior season, Harvey declared for the 2008 NFL Draft and was selected eighth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He would register 92 total tackles, eight sacks, and five pass deflections in five NFL seasons before retiring in 2012.
