No. 3 Caleb Sturgis (2008-2012)

As a true freshman, Caleb Sturgis was a member of the 2008 National Championship team and handled kickoff duties in the National Championship Game.

In his four years kicking for the Orange and Blue, Sturgis hit 70 of 88 field goal attempts (79.5 field goal percentage), nailed 130 of his 136 extra point attempts (95.6 extra point percentage), and is responsible for 338 total points.

Sturgis really started to come into form during his upperclassmen years and garnered awards that include:

  • SEC Champion in 2008
  • Sugar Bowl Champion in 2009
  • First-team All-SEC in 2011 and 2012
  • First-team All-American in 2012
  • SEC Special Teams Player of the Year in 2012

After a tough Sugar Bowl loss his senior year, Sturgis entered the 2013 NFL Draft and was selected 166th overall in the 5th round by the Miami Dolphins.

He is still with the Dolphins and was also a solid kicker for my fantasy team last year.

After two years in the NFL, Sturgis has hit 55 of his 71 attempts (77.5 field goal percentage) with his longest kick being 54 yards.
