Alex McCalister may look like a walking, talking 6’7 stick bug, but he continually proved in 2014 that his explosiveness and acceleration are problems the SEC will have to deal with in 2015.
McCalister was tied for 10th in the SEC in 2014 with six sacks, which was also good for second on the Gators behind Dante Fowler Jr.
What is even more astounding is that he did it as a backup for UF behind guys like Fowler Jr. and Jonathan Bullard.
Now with McCalister set to start at defensive end this year, the North Carolina native may just be another stick of dynamite for the Gators to light.
Have a happy and safe 4th of July everyone!
