Years at UF: 1994 to 1997
Position: Corner
Turn back the clock to 1996 and there you’ll find one of the leaders on the national champions, none other than Fred Weary.
A three-year starter for Steve Spurrier, Weary has without a doubt one of the most decorated careers in UF history.
Weary once had six interceptions in a season and still holds the school career interception record with 15.
He was an All-American in 1997 and was a starter on a defense that won SEC Championships from 1994 to 1997.
Weary ended up being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth-round.
He had an underwhelming pro career but you’d be hard-pressed finding another Gator defensive player with the resume that Weary has.
