Logos: Florida State recently traded their iconic Seminole warrior face with…another Seminole warrior face. The first one always looked like it was crying. Actually, the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw that was “Dracula”. The old logo looks like a vampire.

I was never really a big fan of that particular logo, but the new one is almost laughable. Even our friends at Chop Chat struggled to find kind words about it:

Not a real endorsement, but I guess that’s what happens when you have a rebranding of sorts.  I have to say, the new logo doesn’t really strike fear in me. I do like the new font they’re including in their branding. I believe it’s called UNCONQUERED. I also like the FSU on the pin of the feather, but other than that, it looks like some bro chugging a beer at a tailgate before a football game. Not what I would want from my school and apparently ‘Nole fans feel the same way.

And of course the secondary logos of the spear, interlocking letters, and monogram need to be taken into consideration. I feel it’s another fairly unique logo, and I think Florida State did well keeping them and even refining them to make them a little more fierce. There’s not a whole lot of change in the secondary logos, but sharpening them up will do them well.
