American Lacrosse Conference. Florida’s lacrosse team has faced some pretty stiff competition, including some premier in-conference games. That would be the American Lacrosse Conference (ALC). The Gators are 4-0 so far this season, with wins at No. 20 Ohio State and No. 13 John’s Hopkins, and hosting No. 11 Penn State and Michigan. Florida has the only perfect conference record in the ALC with their final game of the season coming against league rival, No. 7 Northwestern.

FLax Mounts Comeback to Defeat John’s Hopkins. Shannon Gilroy has been a monster this season for the Gators. Gilroy nearly outscored the Blue Jays all by herself, scoring seven goals in the second half to lead the Gators to a 10-9 win in Baltimore. Gilroy now has 71 goals in just 15 games. The lacrosse squad next hosts Vanderbilt for senior day for the home finale Sunday. (GatorZone)

Men’s and Women’s Tennis Beat Magnolia State Duo. Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams faced both SEC schools from Mississippi this past weekend. On Friday, both teams traveled to Starkville to face Mississippi State. The 15th-ranked men came from behind to beat the No. 16 Bulldogs 4-1. Meanwhile, the seventh-ranked women had no difficulty, sweeping MSU 4-0. On Sunday, the women’s team played in Oxford and beat the No. 24 Ole Miss Rebels on their home court. At home, the men’s team celebrated senior day with a 4-1 defeat of Ole Miss. (GatorZone)

Moral of the Story. Although it was an incredibly disappointing weekend for Gators fans everywhere, as a whole, Florida teams competed very well. Baseball lost their series 2-1 to Kentucky, but every other team came away with a win, save the men’s basketball team. Although the basketball team had the most on the line, they’ve still put together a phenomenal season. It’s still great to be a Florida Gators and in all kinds of weather, we all stick together, right?
