Pictures of Florida Gator black football helmets went viral on Twitter today. After many assumed they were authentic Gator helmets, it was found out that they were in fact fan made. The creator can be found here on Twitter.
It looks like the main color is matte black with a nice blue lining. My favorite feature of the helmet is the Bane-esque mask. The Justin Tuck grid mixed with the blacked out visor is classic. As expected, Florida has confirmed these helmets are not a game option.
Tradition is nice and all, but I would like to see UF stray from the classic orange helmets with blue text.
Not surprisngly, Miami fans jumped at opportunity to tease Gator fans. These will not be game worn and are not affiliated with the university so have your fun Cane fans.
Many writers and outlets were very convinced that these masks were going to be worn by the Gators. Sporting News is just one of many.
Let us know your opinion of the fan made helmets down below.
