Rest in Peace John Curtis
Information is starting to come out about the death of former Florida safety John Curtis. Before coming to the Gators, Curtis was a wide receiver and defensive back at Cocoa Beach. He played safety for the Gators during the late 2000s. Curtis didn’t have the best of luck on the field during his career – missing both 2005 and 2008 after suffering season-ending injuries – but was greatly respected among his teammates. He saw action in six games in 2006 and another 11 in 2007. Curtis’ best game may have come against South Carolina in 2007 when he blocked a punt. That same year, he had a career-high three tackles against FIU and FSU. Rest in peace John.
