Florida Gators football recruiting target Tray Bishop decommitted from Auburn, but some of their targets have officially shut down their recruiting process. What’s new on the recruiting trail?

News

Let’s get the glooming news out the way first: four-star offensive tackle NaVaughn Donaldson doubled down on his pledge to the Miami Hurricanes. Florida made a late push that some, including myself, thought would be enough to flip the lineman, but they came up short.

He confirmed his choice of the Hurricanes on December 13 via Twitter.

Another top recruit decided to shut down his commitment: five-star Jerry Jeudy. The Gators were no longer expected to be in the running for him, but nonetheless, he has shut it down.

The Alabama receiving corps will only get better, as well as their 2017 recruiting class overall.

It seems like it has been all bad news so far, but these are really all recruits Florida was on the back burner for anyway. That trend continues as five-star Donovan Peoples-Jones selected the home-state team Michigan over coming down south to Gainesville.

January 27th has become a big day for the Gators, as they will now officially host four important targets for their 2017 class. Those players include five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon, four-star athlete Tray Bishop, four-star defensive back Brad Stewart, and four-star offensive tackle T.J. Moore.

Florida seemingly is in the final two-to-three schools for all these commits. The real question is if they can finish strong enough to land the majority of them.

The tweet has been since deleted, but Florida landed the top spot in four-star defensive backBrad Stewart’s Top 6.

Florida Prep School recruit Kyree Campbell got his 247Sports profile filled out. 247 awarded Campbell with a three-star rating and ranked him the third-best prep school recruit in the class of 2017.
