Welcome to Bait & Bits, a series on Hail Florida Hail that will feature one “bait” about an opposing school and some bits about the Florida Gators. Have any links that you want on Bait & Bits? Tweet it at us @HailFloridaHail or @BrettKaplan13 or email it to us at [email protected].

Bait

South Carolina and Alabama. Three-star offensive guard Brandon Sandifer chose Florida over former Gators coach Steve Spurrier and South Carolina and Alabama Wednesday night. He became the fourth offensive line commitment and 11th overall of this year’s class.

Bits

Jeff Driskel Thinks the Offense Will Be Just Fine. Driskel’s exact quote: “We have a good thing going.” Sounds promising. And Driskel’s looked sharp in practice. (Patrick Schmidt, FanSided)

Jabari Gorman, “The Godfather” of the Gators Secondary. Gorman’s a senior this season and there are a ton of freshman – redshirt and true – competing for playing time. His leadership shouldn’t be underestimated. (Chris Harry, GatorZone)

Kurt Roper on Offense and QBs. His “Golden Rule”: When a passing play is called, throw the ball. He also likes where the offense is at. (Scott Carter, GatorZone)

Freshman QBs Learning the Mission. The freshman are making progress. Look for Will Grier to be the backup week one, but watch out for Treon Harris. He could still be used. (Scott Carter, GatorZone)

Football Practice Report. Like I said, watch out for Treon Harris. Things are beginning to click for him. (Robbie Andreu, GatorSports)

Brandon Sandifer Commits to Florida. Another perspective. (Andrew Melnick, FanSided)

Would the Gators Have a Championship in the Past Decade if the Playoff was in Effect? Florida won two championships in the past decade. To answer the question, yes and no. (Michael Collins, FanSided)

Early College Basketball Rankings. Gators come in 17th. I completely disagree. There could be more talent on this team than last season. Florida should be a top-10 team when official rankings roll around. (Nathan Giese, Hoops Habit)

Freshman Volleyball Player Rhamat Alhassan is Really Good. She’s only been playing volleyball for three years and she won MVP honors at the U20 NORCECA Continental Championships. She’s also the tallest volleyball player to sign with the Gators. Ever. (Scott Carter, GatorZone)

SEC Network Launches Today. Programming starts at 6pm with live shots at the Heavener Football Complex. Tim Tebow and Joe Tessitore will be there to anchor the coverage. Are you planning on watching? (GatorZone)

Tim Tebow Making a Comeback? Tebow’s agent said he’s fielded some calls about the former QB returning to play in the NFL. Could we see him on the field this season? (Jeff Weisinger, FanSided)

Students Can Be Mr. Two-Bits(!). I wish they had this when I was in school. (Chris Harry, GatorZone)

Don’t forget to wish Mr. Tebow a happy birthday! He turns 27 today.

As always, discuss in the comments section, Facebook and Twitter.
